Laura Santamaria (born Italy 1976) is an artist living in Como and working in Como, Lugano, London.
\nHer practice which includes painting, installation, site specific projects and concerns with precarious states of impermanency of the matter through which she explores varied experimental processes. Her site-specific, sculptures and installations often present to the viewer a parallelism between the micro and macro cosmos thus reflecting on systems and processes of interconnectivity. Her work is represented in collections including the Artphilein Foundation, Switzerland and a permanent installation at Fondazione Spinola Banna per l\u2019Arte, Italy. Her recent residencies include: Museo de Arte Contempor\u00e1neo, A Coru\u00f1a, Spain (2017) V-I-R ViaFarini in residence, Milano (2018). Laura Santamaria is founder and curator of the collaborative project\u00a0\u00a0 Drawings from Lightning (2013\/19) the self published artist book is a collection of drawings, representing a statement of the artists\u2019 thinking, an expression of an intellectual position which finds in the drawing practice its favorite language.<\/p>\n
